Update - Public Notice - Swords Wastewater Plant

Public Notice of Swords Wastewater Treatment Plant Urgent Repair/Maintenance Works Extended

Due to ongoing essential minor operational maintenance requirements, and the knock on effect on the treatment process at Swords Waste Water Treatment Plant, intermittent odour issues may arise.

Works commenced on Tuesday 9th July 2019 and have been extended to Friday 12th July 2019 (weather permitting), and it is envisaged that this will return the plant to optimum levels of operation.

These works are essential to maintain an effective treatment process within the plant.  Due to the nature of these works, there may be some intermittent odour issues in the vicinity of the plant for the duration of the works.  Irish Water and Fingal County Council are currently deploying additional odour abatement methods to mitigate the odour as far as possible.

Any inconvenience arising from this work is regretted, but please be assured that the work is essential for the proper maintenance of these public facilities.

Fingal County Council and Irish Water thank you in advance for your cooperation on this matter.
