Public Notice of Swords Wastewater Treatment Plant Urgent Repair/Maintenance Works
Due to essential equipment malfunction, urgent repairs and maintenance within the Swords Waste Water Treatment Plant are required to be carried out over the coming weeks. These works are commencing in the coming days, likely 10th April 2021, and may take a number of weeks to complete, with a target completion date for late/end April. It is envisaged that this will return the plant to normal levels of operation.
These works are essential to ensure an effective treatment process within the plant. Due to the malfunction of this equipment and also the nature of these works, there may be intermittent odour issues in the vicinity of the plant for the duration of the works. Irish Water and Fingal County Council are currently deploying odour abatement methods to mitigate the odour in so far as possible.
Any inconvenience arising from this work is regretted, but please be assured that the work is essential for the proper maintenance of these public facilities.
Fingal County Council and Irish Water thank you in advance for your cooperation on this matter.
