Temporary Bathing Water Advisory Notice for Brook Beach Portrane

Preliminary Bathing Water Quality Results received today from a sample taken at Portrane Beach, The Brook on Monday the 31st of July 2023 met the standard for "Poor" water quality - elevated E. Coli

Following consultation with the HSE a Temporary Bathing Water Advisory Notice is to be placed at the beach until a bathing water re-sample is taken.

An investigation has begun and a bathing water re-sample is planned for tomorrow, the 2nd of August 2023 (results will be received on Friday the 4th of August).
