Portrane the Brook Beach is a gently sloping sandy beach, on the seaward side of the Portrane Peninsula. Brook beach expands north to become the Burrow beach where sandy dunes are located. Latest Annual Bathing Water Quality Report

Portrane, the Brook Beach is classified as achieving Good Water Quality in 2023, based on the assessment of bacteriological results for the period 2020 to 2023. Portrane, the Brook Beach achieved an Excellent Water Quality rating in 2022, and a Good Water Quality rating in 2021 and 2020. Annual water quality ratings are generally calculated using monitoring results over a four-year period and are assessed against stringent bacterial limits to protect bather health.
