Works to restore water supply to homes and businesses in Garristown Update 11.30am 19 March 2020 - Repairs have been successfully carried out in Garristown Irish Water, working with Fingal County Council has successfully carried out repairs to a burst watermain in Garristown and have also carried out repairs at Cottrelstown pumping station. Garristown and areas supplied by Cottrelstown pumping station are currently being impacted by disruption to their supply as the reservoir is refilling. Once the reservoir has refilled, normal water supply will begin to be restored. Full water supply may take 1-2 hours to return as water refills the network. Irish water and Fingal County Council have provided an alternative water supply for impacted customers beside the National School and at the Petrol Station in Garristown village. Every effort to ensure that the alternative drinking water supply provided, including the IBC and dispensing tap, are adequately disinfected. However, as it is not practical to provide sterilised containers for the public to transport drinking water to their homes, we cannot guarantee that any containers used by the public do not negatively impact or contaminate the drinking water. Therefore people are advised to boil this water before use. Irish Water understands the inconvenience when a burst occurs and thanks customers for their patience while we work to repair the burst and restore normal supply to impacted customers. Irish Water and Fingal County Council regrets any inconvenience caused.
